Acne Studio

A second boutique in the City of Lights
acne

All of Paris is great for shopping, but Le Marais has to be among the best quartiers. Now joining the ranks of greats like Surface to Air, APC and the lovable mini-department store Merci is the new Acne Studio, designed by the label’s own creative director, Jonny Johansson.

Located at 3 Rue de Froissart, the store — part retail shop, part workspace — is housed in a converted garage. While shadows of its former life are occasionally revealed (exposed brick and concrete here and there), the space has been given an impressive head-to-toe makeover in Acne’s signature modern-Scandinavian style. The palette is neutral and flourishes are kept to a minimum, save for the installation of a marble sculpture by the artist Daniel Silver at the entrance.

Acne Studio is not your traditional ritzy Parisian boutique — there are no shop windows and its entrance is only barely marked, but the space is as meticulously conceived as the fashions sold inside.
